Incident du Royal Air Maroc B737 near Libreville

A Royal Air Maroc Boeing 737-700, flight AT-538 from Libreville (Gabon) to Malabo (Equatorial Guinea) and further on to Casablanca (Morocco), departed Libreville for Malabo when the cabin crew informed passengers bound for Casablanca and further on to Europe about the restrictions on European flights because of the Icelandic volcano ash clouds. A male passenger bound for France got enraged and became very aggressive towards the cabin crew. Following landing in Malabo security forces attended the airplane but refused the enraged passenger to disembark. The crew was subsequently forced to subdue and restrain the man.

The airplane departed Malabo again with the passenger and now with a delay of 8 hours. The crew was able to control the passenger until landing in Casablanca, where police arrested the passenger. The passenger faces court charges.
